We offer paddles for any skill level, whether you are just starting out or are at the top of your game. Let’s face it, if you have been playing pickleball for some time you have probably bought a paddle only to try it out and realize it just doesn’t work for your style of play. No one wants to go through the hassle of paying for a new paddle, waiting for the delivery, and then finding out you just don’t like the feel, weight, speed, or control the paddle offers. We eliminate this problem and take the stress out of buying online by offering a DEMO option so you can try before you buy.
Before you choose a paddle there are a few key considerations that you need to consider.
- Do you want power, spin, or control?
- Do you want a longer paddle giving you more reach, or wider paddle giving you a larger sweet spot?
- Do you want a lighter or heavier paddle?
- What size and length of handle do you need?
By answering all of the questions above we can help match you with a paddle that suites your need better and give you a much better chance of getting a paddle that you will love for years to come the first time.
So, what paddle shape is right for you and your style of play?
Traditional/Quad shape: Offer the largest possible sweet spot for better consistency and control.
Elongated shape: Offers a smaller sweet spot but increases reach and leverage for more power and spin. Often if reach is needed due to lack of mobility an elongated shape will help.
Core thickness: The thickness of the core plays a critical role in how the paddle feels. As a general rule a paddle with a thinner core will have more pop and power than a paddle with a thicker core. The thicker a paddles core is the more area available to absorb the impact of the ball creating a softer feeling paddle.
Shorter or longer handle: Short handles allow for more paddle surface area on the face of the paddle this increases the area of the sweet spot. Long handles help to increase leverage and paddle speed helping to increase the spin and pace and are needed if you are going to start using a two-handed back hand.
Lighter or heavier: Lighter paddles are generally quicker and easier to maneuver and can help with quick rallies at kitchen. A heavier paddle can provide more power and stability when hitting the ball.
Don’t forget that we offer a Demo option for when you are just not sure if the paddle you are purchasing is the right one.
So, how do you know what the right paddle for you is? From my experience talking with players I have found the following info to be true (much of the time). Women tend to like a paddle with more power and often times heavier. Men tend to like a control paddle and more often heavier. Personally, I like a control paddle, that is really light. It is quick at the net for defense, and I have enough swing power to still get some solid pace on the ball.
